2015 Registration for Middlesex Summer Baseball is now open.
A.Y.B.S.A. is part of the Middlesex Summer Baseball program. This program offers "travel" baseball on a more relaxed schedule. Middlesex games take place two weeknights per week, no weekends (except practice). Leagues are broken into 9/10 and 11/12 age groups. Games start after the July 5th and end around August 14, with no postseason play.
Players who wish to play Middlesex Baseball must register, but need not try out. When registering, you may request being placed on teams with other players and/or coaches. Teams will in part be built using these requests, but the roster size will also be a factor, meaning if a team roster is full request cannot be honored. Please keep in mind we cannot always honor every request! So it is best to register early.
The towns that are usually included are Belmont, Bedford, Lexington, Winchester and Watertown under the lights.
Game times are usually 5:30p or 5:45p.
The 11/12 teams usually play Monday & Wednesday; the 9/10 teams play Tuesday & Thursday. Friday has been used to help balance the schedules, but only infrequently.
Registration closes June 28, teams will be finalized ASAP.
The cost is $110.00.
Roster size will run about 14 players to allow for vacations.
Will be needing coaches and managers, please contact Ken Bergeron,
2015 Bay State Baseball -- Make-up Tryout Date Set
2015 Bay State Baseball -- Make-up Tryout Date Set
A make-up tryout for anyone interested in being considered for one of Arlington's 4 Bay State baseball teams will be held on Sunday, May 24 from 3 to 4:30 pm at Buck Field. Kids of all baseball ages, 9-12, who were not able to attend last weekend's tryouts are welcome.
Bay State is a competitive "travel" baseball league for kids whose current baseball age falls within the range of 9-12. Games will start in late June/early July and will conclude by early to mid-August depending on the team's success.
The time commitment for games and practices varies greatly by age/division. For example, the time commitment for the Bay State D division, for 9-year olds, is very similar to the Middlesex League (2 games per week; weekly practices).
Arlington will enter at least one team in each division - we will consider entering additional teams if there is enough interest.
There is no fee for the tryouts! But we do ask that you register at www.aybsaonline.org prior to your child's tryout. You will only be charged a fee if your child is selected to a team. If you have any questions, please email Gil Alexander at Gilbert.Alexander@gartner.com or Peter Howe at email@example.com.
