AYBSA 2015 REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

Registration for Arlington Youth Baseball & Softball Association, (A.Y.B.S.A.) 2015 spring programs is now open.  To be eligible, children must live in the town of Arlington.  The baseball program includes boys and girls ages 5 through 12 years old on April 30.  The softball programs, girls must be 7 to 15 years old on December 31.   Go to the AYBSA website www.aybsaonline.org to register.


Fundraising   Raffle Tickets

All registration fees include a prepayment of $50 for raffle tickets that each child has the option to sell.  Each child will receive raffle tickets from their coach to sell, they are only required to return the ticket stubs, and the families are to keep the money.

Baseball        Tee Ball         Age 5 & 6 

This Instructional League is intended to teach basic skills (throw, hit, catch flies, field grounders, and run bases) to small groups of boys and girls. The first half of each session is devoted to instruction. The second half of each session is used for game playing using a batting tee. Tee ball teams practice/play on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 3:00PM to 4:30PM at various fields throughout the town. Rosters will be set around mid April and the first session will be the first weekend of May and ends on Father's Day weekend in June.  Rosters are generally based on school districts.  Registration fee is $160.00

 

Baseball        Double A (AA)   Ages 6 & 7

This Instructional League further teaches basic skills (throw, hit, catch flies, field grounders, and run bases) to small groups of boys and girls.  Rosters will be set in the middle of April and practices will be scheduled soon after.  The season will start the first weekend of May and end late June.  Generally, there will be 2 games a week with one of them on the weekend.  Games start at 5:30pm during the week and various times on the weekend.  Registration fee is $190.00

 

Baseball      Eights   League ages 8

This league is for Eight year olds that have already had at least one year in the AA league.  The purpose of the league is to be slightly more competitive than AA with more of the rules of the Major division.  This age group will participate in a try-out/evaluation late March.  After the try-out there will be a selection process to construct rosters base on talent and school district.  The rosters will be finished by the early April and practices will begin soon after.  Game will start after the April school vacation and end late June.  There will be 2 to 3 games a week with one being on the weekend.  Start times during the week will be 5:30PM. Registration fee $220.00

 

Baseball        Nine Year Old/ Triple A (AAA)/Majors    Ages 9 thru 12

This age group will participate in a try-out in late February unless they were on a Major league team last year then they are only required to register.  After the try-out there will be a draft to fill the 12 Major league rosters.  After the Major draft the remaining 10 to 12 year olds will be drafted on to the AAA teams and the remaining 9 year olds will be drafted on to Niners League teams.  The number of teams in the AAA and Niner's league will be determined by the number of children who sign-up.  The rosters will be finished by the middle of March and practices will begin late March, early April.  Game will start during the April school vacation and end late June.  There will be 2 to 3 games a week with one being on the weekend.  Start times during the week will be 5:30PM, 5:45PM, or 7:30PM. Registration fee is $220.00.

 

Softball Minors ages 7-9 year

Girls ages 7, 8, and 9.  This is a developmental league.  The season will start with coach pitch and eventually develop into player pitch.  Focus will be on fundamentals and learning the game.  Teams will be compiled by the league director and managers. Games will be held 2-3 times a week and will include weekends.  There will be pre-season practices and clinics during the season.   Managers may include practices during the season.  Managers will reach out to parents to assist with the team.  Space will be limited to maintain reasonable size rosters, a waitlist will be started at that point. Registration fee is $190.00.

Softball Majors age 10-12 year  Fastpitch

This is a competitive league, players pitch, play six innings with patched umps, with some modified rules.  Games are played 2-3 games a week and may include a Saturday.  Pre-season practices will be scheduled and practices will be scheduled during the season also by the manager.  There will be a tryout for all new players in early March, practices will start end of March beginning of April.  League games will open the beginning weekend of April vacation and end with playoffs the end of June.  Space will be limited to maintain reasonable size rosters, a waitlist will be started at that point. Registration fee is $210.00.

  

Softball Juniors   Ages 13 thru 15 Fastpitch

This age group will participate in a try-out in early March.  After the try-out there will be a draft to fill the Junior league rosters.  The rosters will be finalized at the beginning of March and practices will begin late March, early April.  Game will start during the April school vacation and end late June.  There will be 2 to 3 games a week with one being on the weekend.  Start times during the week will be 5:45PM and various times on the weekend. Registration fee is $210.00.

NEW - Extreme Softball Tournament Teams (girls)

A.Y.B.S.A. is excited to announce that we are now offering  Xtreme Fastpitch Tournament Softball Teams at U12 & U14 levels:

  1. Helmet with team logo and number.
  2. Backpack Bag with team name as well as your name, number.
  3. Two pairs of uniforms (pants, shirt, socks, visor)
  4. Team Sweatshirt.
  5. Player bios with personal standings.
  6. Indoor training facility for conditioning, hitting and fielding practice starting in January.
  7. 5 to 6 tournaments.
  8. Players in 8th grade and younger still play in AYBSA League.
  9. Outside Practices in Arlington. No in town game conflicts.

Tournament Player Cost $ 650 (not including AYBSA League cost.
